Baby D and her Daddy!

If she was born on her due date, we would have been celebrating her golden birthday, yesterday. It's already fixing to be a really weird birthday, with it being 2020 and all, but to celebrate your golden birthday on a Friday the 13th in 2020..... I feel like that would have been a little "jinx-y". So thankfully, we have 5 more days (for me) to go through a ton of emotions at D becoming a teenager.

I'm not entirely sure how I'm feeling about this. D is such an amazing person. From the moment she was born, she was just awesome. We always joked that we "hit the baby lottery" with her. Even now, at 12, she is one of the coolest humans in the world. Well rounded, smart, great sense of humor, kind, and just so beautiful: inside and out. If I was her age I'd want to be her friend and I wish that every single kid in this world was able to have at least one friend just like her.

This entire month, I've been at a loss for the adjectives accurate enough to describe my feelings toward my firstborn becoming a teenager, but I do know that I am so grateful that God blessed us with her! Every single day I'm grateful for that (not so) little lady that has brightened our world so much. I've loved seeing all that she has accomplished so far and I look forward to seeing so much more!
