3 Easy DIY Projects To Improve Your Home For The New Year

2020 has been a bit of a bad year…. There’s no point doubting that, the world caught fire, we were locked indoors for most of the year and good news has been few and far between, so we’re looking towards 2021 hoping that next year will be a better year than 2020.

Before we fully write off 2020, you have some time left to bring some new life into your home ready for 2021 and everything that comes with it, once all this madness is over, we’ll be having guests over to our homes for the first time in almost a year, so let’s make our homes a bit more stylish ready for all the social occasions in 2021!

So, without further ado, let’s look at some simple DIY projects you can do around your home to get prepared for 2021.

  1. Treat Your Windows With Replacement Blinds

Our first DIY task is probably the easiest of the bunch and can be done very quickly. Blinds can make or break a room and if you have tired old blinds, they’ll make the rest of your room look tired and old. If you have vertical blinds, you can buy replacement vertical blinds slats online easily.

To fit these new slats onto your blinds, all you’ll need to do is unhook the individual slats already on your head rail and then clip in your new slats on the same hooks, you can do this in less than 10 minutes without needing to take down the headrail for the blinds, making this task very easy!

  1. Freshen up A Room With A Feature Wall

If all four walls of any room are the same colour, the look of your room can get bland quickly, so adding in a feature wall is a great way to shake up the look of any room and help the décor of the room naturally draw your attention to certain areas of a room, which makes feature walls excellent for rooms with features like mounted TVs, Fireplaces, etc.

All you need to do, is to choose the room you want to freshen up, decide what wall will be your new feature wall, work out what colour you’ll want it painted and then paint it! It’s that simple, the hardest part of this task is working out what colours will act complimentary in your room.

  1. Bring Nature Inside Your Home

Another seemingly simple task, bring nature into your home. While this may not be as DIY intensive as other tasks, it requires a green finger to pull off correctly. To add nature to your home, you’ll need to bring some plant life into your home. This will help your interior décor of the room as well as having many health benefits.

You’ll want to find somewhere like Bloombox Club where you can order high quality plants online and get them delivered quickly. All you need to do is find pots and plants you like, set them up around a room and take care of them, this will bring some actual life into your room and keep the style up to date as plants change throughout the seasons.
