Make Spiders as a Halloween Snack

Does anyone else's kids absolutely LOVE everything about Halloween? My oldest has always loved Halloween and so we try to do as many themed activities, crafts, and snacks. I opened my pantry one day and looked at what we had and made little spider sandwiches from what I could find.

Easy and simply are two of my favorite words when it comes to most things in life. I wanted to make a snack the kids could help with AND enjoy eating. This time of year, I also try to keep the sugar intake down a little since the urge to eat tons of sugar is so influential.

So. here is what I found and used for these festive spiders:

  • Ritz crackers
  • peanut butter
  • pretzels
  • chocolate chips
I actually used the regular pretzels and simply broke them to make the legs.

1. Spread peanut butter on one cracker
2. Place the legs on the peanut butter
3. Spread peanut butter on the other cracker
4. Place this cracker on top of the other
5. Place two dots of peanut butter on the top cracker
6. Put 2 chocolate chips on peanut butter dots
Ta-da! Spiders.

If you want to make them look better than mine you can use the pretzel sticks, black and white icing or candy eyes for the eyeballs, or add little pieces of candy corn for little fangs.

Get creative and use what you have! So many recipes use ingredients that only are used for a single recipe.
