Have you ever experienced a Disney World Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? This is one of my favorite "special" events that Walt Disney World holds. 

Held Walt Disney World's Magic kingdom park, these special ticketed events occur on evenings between late August and Halloween. They are full of special character meets, the Boo to You Happy Halloween Parade, a spectacular Halloween themed stage show , special treats, and even candy stations! I think it's well worth the special ticket price- plus, the park closes to only MNSSHP ticketholders!

A couple of falls ago, I visited WDW with my family. As they are not big into Halloween, I decided to attend the party by myself. While they enjoyed hotel pool time, I made my way over to the Magic Kingdom to indulge in a few rides before party time hit. At the time, WDW offered early entrance for party-goers, so I had a couple hours before the park shut down!

After doing a few special things, I stood in line to meet Jack and Sally. Typically, their character meet line is super long and really isn't worth it because you miss out on so much else of the evening! Yet, I was able to get near the front, so I only wasted the "extra" time in the park before the party began.

I am glad that I waited, because it was fun to start of the evening talking to them! I don't remember what we talked about, but most likely how it would be a dreadful night! 

Another one of my favorite things of the evening was hitting up all of the special photo opportunities and meeting special characters! 

The Haunted Mansion ride is my favorite ride in all of Magic Kingdom, so being able to experience it during a Halloween party is really cool. Some special affects are added at the end and outside of the ride to help us get into the Haunted Hitchhiker experience. Don't forget to stop and see Madame Carlotta. She will entertain you so much with tales of her untimely demise. 

Going to a MNSSHP definitely requires a plan, especially if there are certain things you want accomplished. If too much time is spent on rides, then you will miss out on all of those character meets and special treats. I personally skipped most of the rides and went for my favorites, then focused on the character meets, the Boo to You Parade, and ended the night with the last show. 

The last time I went, the show was the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular. Hocus Pocus has always been my top favorite Halloween movie, so I was really excited to see the Sanderson Sisters up on the stage putting a spell on all of us. 

As always, the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was a magical evening that I still haven't forgotten! Even though the parties were cancelled this fall, I know that plenty of videos of Boo to you Parade and the Hocus Pocus Spectacular exist out in google world, so will definitely be finding one to watch. 

I hope that Disney is able to resume the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party next year but if not, I have memories to remind me of how much fun this season is!
