I have to admit- I am horrible at bedtime rituals and routines, particularly when it comes to lotions and facial care. Sure- I make sure to remove make-up and brush my teeth, but outside of that, there isn't much of a routine. 

Not only does Dear Self want us to create a routine/ ritual (morning and/or night) by using their products daily, they also want us to create a ritual of affirming ourselves and our lives. 

Created by two sisters, a professional surfer and vegan-influencer and a computer engineer, this skincare line  is natural, cruelty-free, and vegan. I came home from a week of vacation, that included lots of outdoor adventures, to a box full of several products! Needing some skincare R&R after a week of sun, I was excited to try these products out. 

The "I am Gleaming" Facial Moisturizer contains Vitamins C, E, and A along with sea kelp and rose hip. (for those who want to know, rose hip is the round part of the flower that contains the seeds of the plant). This moisturizer is for daily use- both morning and night.  As the moisturizer is a thick creme, not much is needed during application. While it is free of any enhanced synthetic fragrances, I do detect a light smell, most likely from the rose component. It definitely does not have any chemically enhanced smells at all! This has become my new favorite moisturizer. It is not oily, it's not too heavy, doesn't cause me to break-out, and keeps me going! While applying this to your face, grasp a hold on the "I am Gleaming" phrase to remind you to be full of light and beauty. 

Next, I was able to try the facial night oil, "I am Divine." Generally, I've steered clear of body/facial oils over the years, except for use by the professionals I know that there can be great value in using oils to help nurture and renew your skin, but I've just never invested much. Again- it goes back to the whole lack of routine care. Since arrival, I've been using this night oil regularly and I doubt I'll ever go back!

The "I am divine" oil is made up of Primrose and Jojoba. It claims to balance and renew skin and enhances collagen as an overnight detox oil using Omega Fatty Acids 3, 6, 9. This night oil should be used after you have washed your face- I would recommend after your moisturizer to help seal in all things great about it, but that's totally up to you and your skincare routine. The jury seems to be out on whether oils should be applied before or after moisturizers, so try it both ways and use your judgment!

The bottle comes with a dropper, so it doesn't take much during application. The oil goes on smooth, is absorbed quickly, and doesn't make me itch, break-out, or have other issues like other cosmetics have in the past. It has a great smell too. 

The phrase, "I am divine", helps to remind me that I am strong. I don't necessarily think of myself as a goddess, but having that thought process helps remind me I'm strong, beautiful, and can't make it through the crazy of life. 

The "I am Serene" facial mist is amazing to help recenter and refocus! I've been using this mist before bed to help me calm down, but it can be used anytime you need a soothing scent to change your nerves or mood. Made with Butterfly Pea Flower, Lavender, chamomile, and rose this mist will help reshape your inner being so that stress and worry can melt away leaving you in a calm centered state of mind. 

 I was also sent the "I am Infinite" reusable makeup remover.  If you wear make-up, then you need one of these! It's large enough to cover your facial features, but small enough for transport. It's soft, gentle, non-toxic.. and the best part is: it's reusable! No more buying cotton balls, one-time use prepacked clothing, or ruining towels. Throw in you washer, let air dry, and pick it up again for reuse!
