How To Make DALGONA COFFEE? #WhipItUpWednesday

First, let me tell you when my daughter came to me after watching a TIK TOK and wanted to make me a Dalgona coffee recipe, but she needed instant coffee. I said NO! Yep, I turned down coffee. Why because I'm a hardcore coffee drinker and Ewww INSTANT COFFEE! I'll admit I'm a bit snobbish when it comes to my coffee.

BUT she talked me into it, and we went to the grocery store and picked up some instant coffee. We didn't get the kind she wanted because they were ALL OUT- and yes, I took her to 3 stores. She was determined to make it with Cafe Bustelo- Instant Coffee but any instant coffee will do!

I had it in my mind. I wasn't going to like this coffee, but after my daughter made it OMFG- I was hooked. I actually had to put a limit on how many a week I can have- and only on hot days! Dalgona Coffee is so darn good and addicting- so watch out.

I do like how you can tweak the recipe the way you want it. You can use dairy or non-dairy milk, you can use white or brown sugar, instead of sugar use honey. There are so many ways to make this yummy in the tummy coffee!

What is DALGONA COFFEE anyways?

Dalgona coffee is a beverage made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar, and hot water until it becomes creamy and then adding it to cold or hot milk. Thank you, GOOGLE, for explaining that to me!

How do you make DALGONA COFFEE?

Easy peasy! Grab your ingredients: This will make 2 cups

2 tbsp of Instant coffee
2 tbsp of brown sugar or plain granulated sugar will work
2 tbsp of hot water
1 1/2 cup hot or cold milk (best cold)

Instructions:

Mix the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a large bowl.
Then whisk the mixture until foam forms. Now you can use an electric whisker to save time, but handheld one works too- just takes a few more minutes! Make sure it is FROTHY!
Grab your cup and fill about 2/3 of each cup with milk then add a few ice cube.
Pour or spoon the frothy Dalgona coffee mix over the milk.
After oohing and awwing and taking pictures - mix the froth with the milk and ENJOY! Drinking the froth without mixing is GROSS, so make sure to mix it!

Extra Tips:

Add chocolate sauce
Add a couple drops of VANILLA extract.
Make sure the water is HOT!!!
Check out other recipes- some people put candy or cookies in it- I haven't been that brave yet!
You can save an extra amount up to 2 days- cover and put in the fridge for the next day.

This drink has been an addiction for me, so I'm forewarning you will LOVE this drink and want more and more! It beats going to Starbucks for that iced latte plus saves you money.
