E's biological father was my high school sweetheart.  We were young and thought we knew everything.  We were going to get married, have a family, and build a life together... that was our teenage mindset.  Unfortunately, that didn't pan out, but our relationship provided us with E.  It hasn't always been sunshine and roses for us, and for a long time he wasn't a part of E's life.  I didn't want this for either of them, but especially E.  So you know this mama pushed and pushed to get them to at least talk and it was a great decision on my part because now they have bonded in ways that make me proud and happy.
 I met my husband just days after finding out I was pregnant with E.  I knew from day one that he was special and would add value to my life.  Being pregnant, my hormones were out of control and we didn't end up being more than just friends at the time.  He was there for me when E was born and then met the woman who would be his first wife and mother of his daughter.  We went almost 6 years without speaking out of respect for his new family.  When their marriage ended, it didn't take long to realize we were meant to be together.  I used to be jealous that his ex-wife got to marry him first, but she is amazing and shares her daughter with me, allowing me to love her like my own.

Both of these men have stood up to help me raise E into the man he is.  E is strong, independent, and able to stand on his own because of the 2 men that influenced him.  To E's biological dad- I am thankful for you blessing me with E.  He is the best kid I could ever ask for.  He is so much of you and so much of me that he is so close to perfect.  I have you to thank for that.  To my husband, who raised E since he was 5, you taught him to be strong, independent, and to trust himself.  You taught him to respect himself and women.  He is the man he is today because of who you are.  I couldn't ask for a better partner and father for our children.  We are both blessed to have you in our lives.  Our daughter is lucky to have such a strong example of who and what a man should be.  It is because of you that she is strong, independent, and determined to make her own path.  You are an amazing father and I am so happy to share this parenting journey with you.
