Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Celebrating with a Twist

Happy Saturday, friends! It's Easter weekend and although things are going to be a little different in the way we celebrate the holiday, I'm excited about it all the same. It's the day after I'm feeling a little anxious over!

R will be turning 8 on Monday. This is the second year in a row something traumatic has happened around her birthday. Last year it was her fracturing her elbow this year it's a freaking pandemic. She has been pretty upbeat and positive through most of this time but yesterday, when I told her that our date to return to school got pushed back another month, she broke down and cried.

She misses her regular routine. Both girls do. They also miss their friends and R is especially bummed that she wasn't able to celebrate her birthday with them in school before April break. We typically throw her a party at the end of the school year since her birthday falls so close to April break and families are traveling, which is a bit of a relief to us right now, and a few of her friends will be reaching out to her on Monday for some video chatting. It's not entirely the same, but the love is still there and that is what I am trying to focus on. Love will get us through these uncomfortable times!

What "twists" have you put into any celebrations you've had over the past few weeks? We'd love to hear about it so be sure to leave a comment below or leave us a comment on our Facebook page @MommysBlockParty

Have a spectacular Saturday!
