5 Places to (Virtually) Explore with Your Family while Practicing Social Distancing

Ever since the decree to practice social distancing was put into place in the United States (two weeks ago), we've been following the guidelines as a family. Not being able to go out and do all of the things we normally love to do this time of year has sort of had us singing the blues, but like many Americans, we're doing our best to stay home and stay healthy. Since we won't be able to go to the NC Zoo in person as we like to do during the spring, we've been enjoying lots of virtual tours and live feeds from zoos around the country.

Today, I'm sharing a great list of 10 Places you can visit and explore virtually with your family while staying at home. These are my family's top favorites, and if you have a rainy day, or it's still too chilly to get outside and play, this is a great alternative, and it's educational for the entire family!

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

Move at your own pace through the 360-degree room-by-room tour of every exhibit in the museum.
This is one of my all-time favorite museums. When my hubby and I lived in MD, we loved heading to the museum for an afternoon walk-thru!

MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art)

New York's extensive collection is available for view online. If your kids are interested in art, they will absolutely love all of the cool and unique art on display at MoMA! We've been doing a lot of art projects while we've been home, and this is a cool addition to any art lesson!

The Cincinnati Zoo

Don't miss the exciting live-feed viewings on social media! Love safari wildlife? Check in around 3 p.m., because that's the time the Zoo holds a daily Home Safari on its Facebook Live Feed.

Georgia Aquarium

Sea-dwellers like African penguins and Beluga Whales are the stars of this aquarium's live cam. If you've ever visited in person, you already know how awesome the GA Aquarium is! If not, don't miss your chance to pop in and see what all the fuss is about!

LEGOLAND Florida

The Great Lego Race and Miniland USA are just two of the attractions you can check out in a virtual tour of the park. Miniland USA is absolutely amazing! We've walked through as a family at the actual park, and it was so cool to see so many of our beloved cities in LEGO form! If you have a LEGO lover in your home, be sure to take this fun tour!

Where have you visited (virtually) while social distancing?

We know there's a plethora of places to visit for free, right from the comfort of home right now & we want to hear about the places you've 'visited.'
