Eggs-in-a-Hole

Eggs in a Hole
Egg-in-a-Hole is one of my favorite breakfasts, it's a little bit more time consuming than just eggs and toast, but the pay off is totally worth the extra time!  As with all my recipes, the simple directions are first and the more detailed version with pictures follow.

Ingredients:
  • Eggs
  • Sliced Bread (one per egg)
  • Butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
  1. Melt butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and lightly grill bread, turn and repeat, adding more butter.
  2. Remove bread and cut a hole in the center of each piece.
  3. Return bread (minus center circle) to pan, adding more butter in the hole.
  4. Crack an egg into each hole and top with salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Allow to cook until the bottom of the egg white is set, and flip.
  6. Allow to cook until white is just set.
  7. Serve hot.

I hope you enjoy this breakfast as much as I do!
