Happy Saturday, friends. 

The weekend is here and this Mama is ready to get to start getting the preparations underway since Thanksgiving is less than a week away now. Thankfully, we aren't hosting the holiday at our house and the work for "turkey day" is minimal. However, we all know that once this holiday is over, the next one arrives in the blink of an eye, so I'll be throwing in some prep work for Christmas this weekend too!

We won't be putting our tree up just yet, but we do have to rearrange the living room a bit so we will have a place to put it the day after Thanksgiving. I would also like to better organize the gifts I already have on hand for my loved ones since I tend to shop year-round and forget where I put things.

Since I'll be heading to the grocery store later to be picking up some ingredients for the 

Pecan Pie Brownies I plan on making for dessert on Thursday, I am going to grab a few other supplies for Christmas desserts I plan on making too. I bought a  "Cookie House Kit" from my friend Nannette (who is a Pampered Chef Consultant) and I can hardly wait to create our homemade Gingerbread Houses this year. I hope we'll have the time to experiment using different cookie recipes to make other cookie house flavors too. Hmm...maybe we should start that this weekend instead of waiting?
