LOS ANGELES – The Multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning trio, Alvin and the Chipmunks, are back with their latest album, “YOLO.” The new release from Bagdasarian Productions features over 21 original songs from their top-rated hit TV series, "ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks," seen weekly by tens of millions of fans worldwide, with all-new episodes planned to debut this October on Nickelodeon in the US.
Alvin and the Chipmunks, created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr., are currently celebrating their 60th Anniversary since launching onto the scene with “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)”. This song has gone on to become one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time, winning three GRAMMY® Awards in 1959 for “Best Comedy Performance”, “Best Recording for Children,” and “Best Engineered Recording - Non-Classical.” In the years since, these global superstars have gone on to win another three GRAMMY® Awards and sell over 50 million records, making them the #1 selling group in the history of children’s music. Alvin and The Chipmunks is one of the only properties that has enjoyed tremendous success in music, television, and feature films, and in Spring of 2019, the furry trio received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Bagdasarian Productions, helmed by Ross Bagdasarian and his wife Janice Karman, have kept Alvin and the Chipmunks a vibrant cultural icon recognized the world over and continue to write, produce, design, and direct, with Ross providing the iconic voices of Alvin, Simon, and David Seville, and Janice voicing Theodore and The Chipettes (Brittany and Jeanette). Originally created in 1958, the Chipmunks are one of the largest family franchises in the world, with a multi-generational, international following.
