We recently wrapped up my son's 7th birthday party and it was SO much fun! Because he has a summer birthday, we usually take advantage of our community pool and close out our summer with a rockin' pool party!

Each year, I find myself scouring the shelves at Walgreens, Target and Walmart for all-natural sunscreen that WORKS. That is key. Let me tell you about our typical summer day and then you'll understand why sunscreen is so important to me and my family:

First day of summer: Roll out of bed and lounge around for an hour. Eat breakfast. Go to the pool and stay 4 to 5 hours. Repeat every single day until the new school year starts!

There is a slight exaggeration in that schedule as we do chores, reading, math practice and so on, but you get the idea. We spend hours in the blazing sun almost every single day.

Having two little boys who love to be outside, it is always on my mind to find a good quality sunscreen that is not harmful for their bodies and protects them from the harsh, southern sun.

This guy just turned 7 and has had an amazing summer! Both of my boys understand the importance of sunscreen. I think I've drilled it into their minds so much that they are very diligent about this important step. 

When I first heard about Love Sun Body, the name immediately drew me in. Is that not the most adorable and catchy name for a sunscreen company!? I was very excited to try out these products and hopefully find a good quality sunscreen that could truly "beat the heat".

Our friends at Love Sun Body were kind enough to send over three different options for my family to enjoy. We have been using the SPF 50 Tiare and Vanilla scented sunscreen lately and it is indeed water resistant and smells divine! 

I don't know about you, but the scent of  mainstream sunscreen can be quite off-putting at times. Tiare is a flower in the south pacific that is reminiscent of coconut so the scent is tropical and sweet, but very light. It's lovely! I've been using the SPF 50 cream on my boy's faces, ears and necks. Because they wear swim shirts, these are the main areas that are exposed and at risk for burning. 

They have not been burned whatsoever while I've used these sunscreens. Another thing to note is that I did not have to reapply. When I use the spray can versions off the shelf, I generally need to reapply after a couple of hours in the sun. The Love Sun Body formula is thick and very resistant to pool water, ocean water and sweat.

They also offer a fragrance-free version for those who do not prefer or cannot handle a scent. Most of you who have been readers for quite some time know that I try very hard to use all-natural products in most areas of my life. I tend to say that we are 70% natural. There are some areas of life that I let it slide more than others but products that absorb into the skin I do prefer an all-natural choice.

I'm very happy with our Love Sun Body sunscreens! I look forward to using them for the remainder of the summer and also next summer as soon as our neighborhood pool opens for swim season!
