How many times have you wished you had a truck? I can certainly list more times than I have fingers for wanting a truck for big jobs. As with most vehicles, there are plenty of pros and cons to buying or not buying a particular type of vehicle, but trucks can really come in handy when you need a large vehicle with plenty of storage and space for hauling large items. I never really pegged myself as someone who would want a truck or want to have to sit at the helm to actually drive such a large vehicle, but the older I get, the more I realize how helpful and practical a truck would be for my family.

Room for the whole crew

You might think that trucks are short on space in the cab, but it's actually quite the opposite. Trucks now offer plenty of space not only for those riding but for storing items. Whether you're needing room for kids and their backpacks on a day to day basis, or you're taking the dogs along with you to run errands, trucks have a bevy of space for your whole family.

They're safe and reliable

Contrary to what many sedan drivers believe, trucks are safe to drive, even in bad weather. Trucks can go pretty much anywhere, and when muddling through the winter or rainy seasons, trucks can handle water on the roads, or snow and ice. Trucks are incredibly versatile and can handle just about any terrain. You can feel good about driving in the city, cruising down the highway, or taking trips through the mountains, the coastal regions, or even the dry and rocky desert regions.

They've got all the space for hauling

The most appealing aspect of owning a truck (to me) is the space in the bed. When I think about how many times we've moved house, needed to haul furniture, move items, etc., I really wished we'd had a truck. If you're a DIYer, trucks are great for moving materials. Love to garden? A truck can help you bring home a huge load of soil or a new crop of plants. Taking the kids to the beach? Bring along all the things you know they'll want to enjoy- you won't have to tell them to leave their boogie boards at home due to being low on space. Family camping trip? A truck will give you space for all of your gear, and will even give you an area for a makeshift tent!

They're for everyone

My grandfather was a farmer and I never knew him to drive anything but a truck. My grandmother drove it, too, and loved it. It's a common misconception that trucks are just for guys. Plenty of women drive trucks, and absolutely love them. Finding the right truck might take some time, but I guarantee it's worth it. Trucks can be a lot of fun for the whole family, and once you realize how much they actually help you out by giving you tons of room for whatever you may need to move, you'll wonder how you ever lived without a truck before.
