There's 35 School Days Until Summer Vacation & We've Already Started Our Summer To-Do List!

Two weeks ago we were on spring break and now the countdown to the last day of school/beginning of summer is on! Since our spring break happened to be a little lackluster this year, I've been trying to think of a few ways to make sure we could make up for it over the summer. Of course, since my wallet will be a little lighter this summer, I'm making it my mission to cram in as much fun as I can as frugally as I can! Here's what I've got, so far...

1. Bowling- We use Kids Bowl Free so that the girls can bowl 2 free games a day over the summer. This program has gotten us through quite a few rainy summer days. It's available in many cities and there is an option to add on a family pass for just under $30.

2. Lake Compounce- We took advantage of the Black Friday deals and bought season passes to this local amusement park! That means we get to go anytime we want over the summer and I can hardly wait. We might also end up taking advantage of the discount we can get to go camping nearby and make a weekend out of it.

3. Drive-In Movie- We have a drive-in pretty close by and we've been talking about going, but haven't been yet. This summer, WE ARE GOING! The prices are reasonable and from what I've seen, you get to see 2 movies vs the one you usually see at a typical theater. I'm envisioning watching a movie in the back of a pick-up truck, now I just have to find someone who has one.

4. Visits to local aquariums and museums- This can be a pretty expensive thing for a family of four, but thankfully we can get passes for discounted/free tickets from our library.

5. State Parks for Picnics and Scenic Walks- One of our favorite state parks is Southford Falls, and we will be going there this summer, but there are other parks we haven't been to yet and I'm looking forward to checking them out.

That's 5 things already on our to-do list and summer's not even here yet. I'm impressed and a little worried about what the finished list will look like once summer hits. I might have to stop once we reach a certain number....but what number will that be? Only time will tell!

I can't be the only one working on their summer to-do list.
