Find Your Joy

Where is your joy?

Now before you say anything, some of you might be thinking, I don’t want to be where I am right now, and that’s okay! I’m not saying you have to want to be where you are. It’s certainly not easy to have a joyful attitude all the time and in the midst of grief and sorrow and all that goes on in our lives, sometimes there are circumstances that don’t allow for us to love ANYTHING about where we are or the situation we are in. What I am saying is find your JOY. There are so many things to be joyful about! All too often we forget that even through the struggles, joy can be found.

“I need that joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart, down in my heart to stay
I need that joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart, down in my heart to stay.” - For King and Country

Sometimes the joy is found in the friend who calls/texts to check up on you when they haven’t heard from you in a while. Sometimes the joy is found in having someone lend a listening ear and truly just listening.  Sometimes the joy is found in the morning coffee cup while spending time in God’s word. Sometimes the joy is found in spending quality time with your loved ones. Sometimes the joy comes from volunteering at your favorite nonprofit. Sometimes the joy is in tiny pitter patters running across the house. Sometimes the joy is found in the laughter of Children in the middle of a church service. Sometimes the joy is found inspending some much needed alone time. Sometimes the joy is found in beautiful creatures and plants that we encounter that God has created.
Sometimes joy is found in walking into an empty sanctuary and silently admiring the all the beauty the sanctuary holds.

One of the most beautiful joys of the year is
Easter morning!

Whatever that joy is, hold onto it. Better yet, share
it. Let it spread like wildfire. We could all use a little more joy in our lives these days!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the powers of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:3
