Genucel Partners with Women Aware to Help Victims Of Domestic Abuse In New Jersey

Domestic abuse is a real issue in today's world, and while many mainstream media sources are somewhat ignoring it, of late, there are those who continue to do everything they can to help. Women are more often the target of domestic abuse, but plenty of men suffer from it as well. New Jersey has a very high rate of domestic abuse, and Genucel has partnered with Women Aware to raise thousands of dollars to help victims of these kinds of crimes.

There are many facets of domestic abuse, and it is good that there are companies who are working to educate the public about these. Many victims try to hide their wounds by using makeup or hiding away from the world, and a large part of these people suffer from anxiety, low self-esteem, and PTSD. Domestic abuse survivors often experience issues surrounding fertility, broken bones, chronic fatigue, and a lot more, and many of them end up with alcohol or drug problems at some point in their lives.

Thankfully, there are companies who care, and there also groups like Women Aware who do everything they can to alleviate the problem. One of the ways they have done so is by taking part in the yearly Moving Beyond Abuse 5k Race & Charity Walk. The event has raised thousands of dollars to help put a stop to the continual abuse that many women and children deal with on a daily basis.

The event has always helped to raise awareness about domestic abuse, and in the past, the company has also helped by donating to shelters that help domestic abuse victims. Women Aware has benefited from the company's giving and continues to offer services to children and women in Middlesex, New Jersey. Over the years, the organization has provided emergency shelter, support hotlines, and therapy for sufferers of domestic violence.

Two years ago, Women Aware was the recipient of close to $2 million in donations, which have helped to keep the group operational. While large donations are extremely helpful, Women Aware thrives by continuing to setup community fundraising events. This year's race happened in November, and it took place while the 1k charity walk was also happening. Each racer paid a registration fee of $45 to help support Women Aware and to raise awareness in the community, and winners of the race were given different awards. Hundreds of people made it out to the charitable event, and as it was very successful, there is hope that it will continue to be a part of the community.
