I am just over the moon about Monte the Toothless Monster! I was given these beautiful gift sets which include Monte the stuffed plush, the book and Monte's teeth! Having two little boys who are 6 and 7 years old, we are smack dab in the midst of the "loosey goosey toothy" phase. My oldest has lost two teeth so far and my youngest has yet to lose one. He just now has a wiggly tooth and is so excited about that.

When I saw this adorable book and plush, I could not wait to discover what the story was all about and how it all came together. It is even more creative than I could have imagined!

I do not want to give away the entire story because I want you to have the experience that I had when I read this book for the first time. I will tell you that Monte is a sweet monster who doesn't have any teeth. He feels left out because his friends all have teeth and are able to participate in a special party that centers around eating a delectable fruit. Monte wants to try this fruit so badly, but the fruit requires teeth because of it's outer shell. 

As the story unfolds, your little one will be able to help Monte by giving him teeth! There is a little secret pouch under Monte's tongue that you'll place your child's tooth. Sometime during the night, the "tooth fairy" will come and take the real tooth and then place a little plastic snap-in tooth into Monte's mouth! Of course, as the tooth fairy's special helper, you may wish to leave a dollar beside Monte or any other treat you desire. 

The story is incredibly sweet and your little one is going to be so enthralled with the imagery and fantasy of it all. The story is meant to follow you and your little one along the entire journey of them losing their teeth. There is a chart in the back of the book to document which tooth was lost and write down the date. As each tooth falls out, it's time to continue the story with Monte. 

I love when I can attach a special memory to an event that I know my kids will experience. Losing teeth is something that every child will take part in and while placing a dollar under their pillow is definitely exciting and special, being able to read this special book and interact with Monte will truly leave a lasting impression upon their lives!
