Being raised in a diverse culture it is easy to know someone that celebrates Hanukkah.  I have many friends that celebrate this winter holiday.  While different from Catholicism and Christianity, Hanukkah is a cherished religious holiday.

Hanukkah is known as the festival of lights.  The holiday lasts 8 days in which Jewish families celebrate the rededication to the Holy Temple.  This celebration is honored by lighting the menorah, praying, and eating special foods such as rugelach, sufganiyah, and challah breads.

I share this today in honor of my friends that are Jewish.  I share this to show that while the holidays are celebrated with different traditions most are valued the same way.
