Weekends with the Wigglesworths-What a Day for a Day Trip!

Happy Saturday, friends!  We had quite a week, full of hot weather, thunderstorms, and the 4th of July right dab in the center of it all. I know not many people felt this way, but I really appreciated that the 4th fell on a Wednesday this year. It made traveling a lot easier and it was great that Matt got a day off in the middle of a work week.
This weekend, we'll be keeping busy and since the weather is so nice today, I have a few ideas!

I'd really like to head to the beach, but today might not be the best day to do it since the forecast calls for a high of only 78°.  Thankfully, that temperature is perfect for a few other outdoor activities!

78° is perfect park weather. Plus, if we go at just the right time, we might have the entire park to ourselves again! I love it when that happens, it's so much less stressful for me since I tend to both helicopter parent (I'm working on that) and keep an eye out for any potential "danger".

Today is also a great day to head to Gillette Castle State Park. It's one of our favorite places to visit and since it won't be too hot, we can go hiking and enjoy a picnic lunch. Maybe I can even talk Matt into finally checking out the ferry ride to the castle!

Speaking of castles, there's one located a little closer to us, in Meriden, CT, so maybe we'll be visiting Castle Craig today? All I know is that this day is going to be full of adventure and no matter where we go, we'll probably end up geo-caching while we are there!

If you could go to any of these places today, which one would you pick? Leave a comment and let us know!
