Happy Saturday, friends. That's right, the weekend has finally arrived and it's time to let loose at least a little bit, and try our best not to cry. Well, the trying not to cry thing might be just for me because today I'll be going through a pretty big "Parenting Milestone". 

Today, D and I will be heading to the middle school that she will be attending next year. They are having an open house and we'll get to tour the school and find out more about it. Up until today, I have felt okay, but now it's hitting me hard. My daughter is going to 6th freaking grade. My first baby! 

I don't want to cry in front of her and the other open house attendees, so I'm going to try my best to just get through the tour. We have a few more months until she's actually IN middle school so I will try my best to remember that and then maybe cry on the way home if I need to. Seriously though, how the heck did this happen so fast? 

The good news is, she will be going from one magnet school to another. The middle school, like her current school, focuses on the "arts", so I know she will be comfortable there and continue getting a great education while having the chance to participate in some activities that really interest her (acting, dancing, etc). It also makes me happy that some of her friends will also be attending this school, so while she is getting used to a new environment, she won't be doing it alone.
