Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Is it Ever Okay to Keep Secrets from Your Kids? Spoiler Alert- YEP!

Happy Saturday friends!

Today I am feeling...well, I'm not sure if it's really an adrenaline rush, but it's similar. You see, Matt and I have been keeping a huge secret from the girls for the past few months and it's going to be exposed tomorrow. While I think I know how they will react, you can never be too sure. They may be disappointed or feel a bit nervous. I'm not sure if they'll think we're joking and start laughing or cry because they'll realize we aren't.

I think overall they'll be okay because this has been a long time coming!

After many months of playing things off and acting like everything was going to be the same old same, the girls will finally find out that we are GOING TO FLORIDA for spring break!

The last time we were in Florida, R was barely two years old and D was just 6. It's been WAY TOO LONG. Thankfully, Matt's parents own a home near Disney and have helped a great deal with the logistics involved to get us down for a visit. Since they've been spending much of their time in sunny Florida, the girls have been missing their Grandparents and I know they are going to be so excited when we finally break the news to them.

Actually Breaking the News

Many of our family members and friends have been in on the secret and nobody has spilled the beans. Matt and I have been a little wishy-washy with when we'll actually break the news to the girls.

The original plan (which was sort of a joke) was to tell them right as we were getting on the plane. That evolved to letting them hear it from the flight crew as we were taking off. There is a tiny part of me that wants to let them know today, but it's really really tiny. Miniscule even. Almost as tiny as the part of me that wants to come back from Florida when vacation is over.
