It's very fitting that as I type this, it's a rainy Monday. Rainy Monday's are perfect game days at my house! Don't get me wrong, we love playing outside and enjoying nature, but when nature gives us a monsoon, we take the party INSIDE and fill the house with fun other ways! Come check out some hot, new games your kids are going to flip for!
Kroeger Games is the name behind so many of your favorites and maybe even some games you didn't know existed until now! How many of you grew up playing tetris on Nintendo?! I loved the game so much back in the day that I may or may not have even played a modern day tetris app here and there. Must be that innermost desire to see things fit together perfectly and that organizational side of me coming out.
TETRIS DUAL
TETRIS DUAL
Either way, check out Tetris Dual if like me (and my two boys!) you love the original Tetris!
My two little guys are loving this new game! At almost 6 and 7, they were able to pick up the controls and rules pretty easily as this game is for ages 6 and up. Even if played in a more simple format, this game provides fun for everyone! It requires batteries and is an excellent "turn-taking" game that challenges the little thinkers to be strategic. I love watching them think through their move.
The first time they played, I fought the urge to intervene and fill the gaps and let them figure it out! They ended up catching on pretty quickly and have already told me they want to play after school today.
LINKT JEWELRY CRAFT
If jewelry making is more your child's speed, you need to check out the Linkt Craft Hoops & Loops. My older son is very crafty and loves to create. He doesn't seem to mind what he's creating, and he immediately jumped on board creating earrings for some beloved family members!
This kit is amazing! It has everything you need and then some, to make amazing hooped earrings and even a keychain too. There are SO many pieces available to create many jewelry options. The directions show detailed instructions of how to make a variety of earring types.
My 7 year old was able to follow the instructions and with a little fine motor help from me, we created some amazing (I think!) sets of earrings.
Try out this Hoops & Loops kit to see what creations you and your child can make together! The kit says for ages 8 and up but I think if your younger child can sit still and focus, they can make jewelry with a little help from you!
I'm very pleased with our unique creations!
CADOO
The final game we are exploring on our rainy Monday game day is Cranium Cadoo! This game literally has something for everyone. Whether it's sculpting a clue out of clay, solving a picture puzzle, acting out a clue or even sketching one, everyone at game night is going to be high-fiving, giggling and shouting out by game's end.
Cadoo is made for fun!
For ages 7 to adult (yes, even us adults love this game!), Cadoo is the game that has a little bit of "everything" and I love that. It's so interactive and creative. The goal is to be the first to get four tokens in a row on the board to win. You'll truly have a ball playing this game.
