No measure cooking! Sweet Spring themed treat!

North Carolina weather is fickle at best. We had 70-degree weather in February, all the trees began the spring thaw and then we returned to winter. We have had snow flurries off and on for days now and mother nature is awfully confused. I am anxiously awaiting Spring Break and hope that we get some warmer weather to enjoy.

My favorite Spring activities include being outdoors as much as possible and preparing for Easter. The Easter preparations in our house include: sprucing the yard, organizing clothes, and a deep clean of curtains and blinds. The last-minute details include prepping some sweet treats to enjoy over break.

These chocolate peanut butter birds' nests are not only a perfect Spring themed treat but they are one of our favorites because they are so easy to make.

-Peanut Butter Chips
-Chocolate Chips
-Chow Mein Noddles
-Cadbury Mini Eggs

Mix Peanut Butter Chips and Chocolate Chips in microwave safe bowl and heat until melted.  I cover our large microwave dish with about two layers full of equal amounts of each. You can make it more chocolaty or peanut buttery as you would like by changing proportions of each. Add Chow Mein Noodles and coat. Do not be afraid to break up some of the noodles, it actually helps when positioning them.

Spoon out Chow Mein covered noodles onto tinfoil and form into a circle. Place Cadbury mini eggs on top. Place in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to cool then transfer to an airtight container to keep fresh.

We hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

  2. These are really cute and would be adorable alone or on top of cupcakes.
