5 Easy Ways To Better Your Life:#MondayMotivation

Good morning friends and happy Monday! We've arrived at the start of a fresh week. Lately, I've really been trying to focus on doing things that make me happy. This doesn't mean that everything that doesn't make me happy can go out the window - Laundry still has to get folded, am I right? It's a balance. However, it does mean that I am being conscious of the things that aren't good for me and the things that don't add richness and nourishment to my life. Here are some small ways you can improve your life and your physical and mental health.

1. Practice Yoga

Yoga is a great way to get some physical exercise but it's also a great practice for your mental health. Nowadays, you can follow along to a yoga sequence on YouTube and you can even find practices on Pinterest! Beginners are always welcome, especially in the comfort of your own living room!

2. Drink Lemon Infused Water

I do not like the taste of water. This is something I've struggled with my whole life and have very often become dehydrated just because I don't like water. How silly is that? Recently, I've discovered that by adding a wedge of lemon to my water, I drink a ton more! On top of that, lemon water is packed with all kinds of healthy, good-for-you things - it's good for your skin, good for your digestion, it can help you lose weight, and it's full of vitamin C. Recently, I purchased this Citrus Zinger to easily infuse lemon into my water.

3. Read a book

I know, I am always on the book soapbox. Reading is just my thing. It makes me feel good and it helps me relax. But, if reading is not really your thing, try listening to a podcast or an audiobook. My point is to find something to stimulate your brain that doesn't necessarily require a screen. And on that note...

4. Put Your Phone Down

I realized just how much time I was spending scrolling aimlessly, thoughtlessly through social media and other online black holes. Put your phone down. If you can't put it down, it helps to put your phone completely away in another room. Forget about it for a few hours and come back to it later. If you absolutely can't get away, put it across the room so at least you can hear it if someone important calls.

5. Get Outside

Not getting enough vitamin D can put you in a slump. That's why so many of us get the winter blues. Especially now that spring is right around the corner, take some time every day to get outside, even if it's just for a few minutes. Take a quick walk or just sit outside and relax.
