Family traditions are one of my favorite aspects of the holidays.  I love incorporating traditions from my upbringing into my family. I grew up in the 80’s and loved The New Kids on the Block... every year we listen to their Christmas Album and reminisce about past Christmases and about the things we remember from our childhood such as favorite present or favorite memory.

One of my favorite songs from the album is “This One’s for the Children”, because it provides a message to think about the children and to make better changes for the future.  When my son was small, we would visit our local mall and select cards to donate to children in need.  I believed this would help to keep my son grounded and would show him how being selfless is more rewarding than being selfish.



There is Christmas magic when you look beyond the presents received and the presents given.  Memories are made from the traditions and experience of Christmas.

Christmas isn’t about presents it’s about being present. What is your family tradition?
