Thanks to Spin Master for providing me with product in exchange for sharing my honest thoughts.
Being a boy mom is a lot of fun. I actually feel that after seven years of boy mom-hood, I know much more about raising boys than I do girls. My son is growing up, and gone are the days of setting up wooden train tracks in the living room. Now, my little dude is into everything cool and trendy and to my horror, he keeps up with trends better than I do. This year, his Christmas list looks a lot different than it has in years past. As I've looked through it, I've noticed video games, electronics, and RC toys more than anything else.
Air Hogs is a line of toy airplanes, helicopters, rockets, and cars manufactured and owned by the Spin Master company of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are radio controlled, free-flying, and air-powered aircraft. Several of these, especially the remote-controlled (R/C) ones, are designed to be easily flown without any need for assembly.
When B asked for a drone for Christmas, my first inclination was to say, let's wait a year or two on that- because he's seven and drones can be semi-dangerous and delicate. I even hesitated to buy my husband a drone because I hated to spend a ton of money on something that would potentially (and likely) wind up broken.
Air Hogs DR1 Micro Race Drone- perfect for kids who are wishing for their first drone this holiday season!
I looked to Air Hogs when hubby and I talked about the possibility of finding a drone that would suit B, age-wise. They have such an incredible selection of drones and RC vehicles- it would be hard not to find one that we loved, or that B would love. Hubby even had a drone set from Air Hog (Star Wars themed, of course), and he loves it!
The DR1 Micro Race Drone is the perfect drone for B to start out with. He'll need a little help from his dad to get started with flying it, but I know he'll quickly get the hang out it. It's a small size, which is awesome because we don't have a ton of indoor space. B will be able to fly the drone on his own without much assistance. The controller is easy to use, and the buttons are easy to maneuver, as well.
This is a great starter drone for any kid who might be interested in testing the waters (or sky). The DR1 Micro Race Drone is intended for ages 6+.
A small, easy to read and easy to use controller helps your kids fly the drone with precision!
Hubby has tested the DR1 Micro Race Drone out, and it really flies well, and with ease. I think there might be a bit of a battle over who gets to fly it first on Christmas Day! Maybe I'll just buy another one for hubby, and the two can battle their Air Hogs drones! I can't wait to see the guys pull off some cool stunts with this drone- it's going to be awesome!
