Every Labor Day Weekend, our family has a big celebration. We enjoy the 'time off' from work and other responsibilities, and get together to celebrate family birthdays that fall in August and September. Our gathering draws lots of family members, and the birthday folks always decide what type of dessert we'll enjoy together. This year. the birthday people wanted to keep it simple with ice cream. My hubby's birthday was one of the birthdays being celebrated, and though he wanted ice cream, he wanted to take that ice cream party to the next level.


Everyone in our family loves ice cream. I may be the only one who turns it down every now and then. The other food that everyone really loves, is waffles. This waffle-loving bunch would eat waffles for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. What do you get when you combine ice cream and waffles? Pure deliciousness! That's why waffle cones are so popular. We've often toyed with the idea of making homemade waffle cones, but didn't really have the know-how.


For a special birthday treat, we were excited to make homemade waffle cones with the CucinaPro Waffle Cone and Bowl Maker.

We mixed up a batch of waffle batter, and poured a scoop over the plate of the waffle maker. It took a couple of tries to find the correct amount in the poured batter. Use less than you'll think you'll need. You don't want the batter to overflow out the sides of the waffle cone maker. The plates are non-stick, so the thin waffles come right off of the plate of the waffle maker with ease.

We used the cone roller to quickly shapes the waffles after they came out of the waffle maker. We had to work very quickly to roll the hot waffles before they started cooling. Once around the cone, we held them in place and brushed them with water to give them that hardened shine. It did take a few tries to get the cones just right, but once we got the hang of it, the cones were looking better and better.
The bowl maker was also fun to use!

To make the waffle bowls, we pressed the hot waffles into the bowl maker, which shaped the bowls. Everyone was excited to try the waffle bowls!

Once the first few waffle cones and bowls were cooled off and ready, everyone was lining up to try them. We had a lot of fun making these yummy waffle cone and bowl creations. It gave everyone a chance to try a super fresh waffle cone. Even the toddlers loved the waffle cones and kept asking for more!

The waffle cones were a bit softer than what we're used to, but we figured that was just because this was our first time trying to make them. As we continue to use the CucinaPro Waffle Cone and Bowl Maker, we'll get making them down pat. The waffle cone maker is so easy to use, I have a feeling that my brood will be asking for homemade waffles cones all the time! I might even get a waffle cone holder so I can make a big batch at once, and then store them in an air tight container to enjoy at a later date.
