Let’s be honest; a baby’s first birthday is more about the adults than the children. The baby isn’t going to remember this in a few days, let alone a few years. Besides which, they have no concept of what’s happening or even any awareness that it’s for them. Yet, we rush around to get everything perfect, because it’s our bundle of joy’s big day.
And, there’s no denying that this is a special occasion. In many ways, it seems unfair that our kids can’t take these memories forwards with them. Why shouldn’t they get to join in the celebrations of their first year?
The good news is, getting smart with gifts will ensure that they at least have some keepsake from the day. Obviously, most 1st gifts are toys. That’s what babies like, and ultimately, they aren’t going to appreciate anything sentimental at this age. But, there’s nothing to stop you from keeping a sentimental gift aside for when they’re older. You could even display it out of reach in their room.

You can put it on display straight away, and they’ll grow up with in their life!

Necklaces are always a good idea for capturing sentimental moments. Many children receive these as christening gifts for that exact reason. Bear in mind that it may not be worth getting this burnt onto a cd just yet. By the time your kid’s old enough to watch it, we’ll probably be well past DVDs. Instead, keep a few copies. Then, you’ll be able to make a physical form when the time comes.
