Tasty Tuesday- Hour Rice

Oh my gosh you guys, this is one of my most favorite Pinterest Recipes ever! Don't let then name* discourage you from trying it, I am telling you it is definitely worth the hour wait!

*The original recipe was called "Oven Baked Spanish Rice" and you can find it on Real Life Dinner.

I've made this rice a few times already. It's fairly quick to prep and it makes a great side to a variety of dishes. Most recently, I've served it alongside a kielbasa dish with mushrooms and peas. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

You Will Need:
2 1/2 cups of white rice
4 1/2 cups of broth (I've used chicken broth most often and beef broth once, both are delicious)
1 cup of tomato sauce (small can)
1/3 cup of oil (I've had success with both olive and vegetable oil)
A palm full of minced onion (I've also left this out before, no big difference in taste)
A dash of garlic powder
A dash of chili powder
A dash of cumin

Preheat your oven to 350°. Place rice at the bottom of 9x13 baking dish and then add remaining ingredients. Once all of the ingredients have been added, slowly stir to blend. Cover your baking sheet, tightly, with foil. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let the rice sit, covered, for about 5 minutes. Carefully discard the foil and "fluff" the rice with a fork. Serve alongside your favorite dish and ENJOY!
