My 8-year-old son, Aiden recently had a track meet with his school. He attends a private school here in our town and our track meet was against 3 other private schools in our area. Aiden ran the 75M and was on the 3-4th-grade tug of war team. He loves to run and do anything active and had been looking forward to this for a couple of weeks. While I was watching the different events and all the kids out on the field I noticed how friendly everyone was. Everyone was cheering on everyone, Of course, we wanted the children from our school to do well, but we all cheered for all the kids that were participating.
The parents and kids from the other 3 schools were the same way. In today's world, it is so refreshing to see people being genuinely nice and caring and kind to others. My favorite part was when the runners would cross the finish line they would all wait and cheer on the slower runners that would cross even if they didn't go to their school and they didn't know them. To have someone you don't know cheering you makes you feel good. Aiden even commented on how loud everyone was cheering when was running and that is was cool to get high fives from people he didn't know.
Being kind is easy. Can't we all be kind to one another?
