My sweet little girl is gearing up for her very first Easter celebration. Looking back through old photos, one of my favorite pictures is of my own first Easter. The photo shows me and my dad, at my grandmother's kitchen table, and an enormous Easter basket in front of me, with a huge chocolate bunny in the center. I was one year old in that photo. While I may not be putting chocolate bunnies in my baby girl's first Easter basket, I do want to give her some sweet gifts that she will enjoy. Among the little things that I have chosen for her basket are baby toys, baby crayons, puff snacks, and a couple of sweet books.

When I choose books for my daughter, I have certain criteria. Is the book one that we'll enjoy reading together? Is it meaningful? Will she be able to learn from it? Are the illustrations colorful and engaging? Is the text an easy read, and is the story quick?

We were able to preview the adorable book GOD LOVES MOMMY & ME, by Bonnie Rickner Jensen. This cute story features a mommy and baby bunny, and focuses on the special conection and bond that they share. This was a perfect pick for Baby S this Easter. She and I have a very special bond, which has been heightened by breastfeeding for the past year. Now that she's a year old, she is starting to lose interest in nursing, but I know that we'll always have a very special bond. 

We enjoy cuddling at bedtime, and always include a story in our bedtime routine. This book will be a joy to share with her.

 God Loves Mommy & Me features a sweet story, and beautiful illustrations.

The story also focuses on God's love for us.

This book tells children the many ways that God shows his love for us- through the rains that cool the earth, to the sunny days he gives us to play. It's a wonderful way to keep God at the center of your child's life, even at such a young age.

Mommy loves me so much! She cheers me up when I’m sad, she kisses my boo-boos, she sings me lullabies at bedtime, and she prays for me. I love Mommy, and God does too!

This is one of those books that we'll enjoy reading together, and I'm sure one that will strengthen our very special bond that God has given us. As a Christian, it's important to me that God remains at the center of our home, and our family life. Introducing themes of God's love in a way that young children can grasp is a wonderful idea. God Loves Mommy & Me will delight your child(ren) and be a wonderful tool for memory making.
