4-7-8 Breathing Method
I'm not going to lie, being a stay at home mom is stressful! My younger daughter just turned 2 and is becoming quite mischievous and my older daughter HATES to sleep. I would honestly like to spend a week alone on a far away island but can't even go to the bathroom by myself most days!
I decided to research some natural stress relieving techniques and discovered the 4-7-8 method. It's easy to do almost anywhere and has come in handy when I feel myself losing patience.
Breathe in deeply through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 7 seconds
Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds
Repeat as needed
Is it as stress-reliving as sipping a margarita on the beach? NO! But I must say, it works really well. Also, I have noticed that it works better each time I do it. After more research, I have found many people claim it's their secret to falling asleep quickly, I'm going to try it tonight!
