Ever since I had Baby S last April, I feel like I have been in a style slump. Part of it has been my own fault. I haven't felt all that great about myself afer gaining nearly 50 pounds while pregnant. I am still in the process of trying to lost that baby weight, and keep it off for good. When you're trying to lost weight, it's easy to feel sort of down in the dumps, especially when you're not able to fit into some of your old favorite pieces of clothing. I love fashion. If you've followed MBP for a while now, you probably already know this. Staying up to date on the latest looks is fun for me, but I have to be realistic about what I can wear. The fact is- I have two kids who require a lot of attention. I feel like I have to be a mom first, and fashionista second. Luckily, when I find the right pieces that become staples in my wardrobe, I can be both!

When it comes to my personal style, I love to mix and match different pieces that are super versatile. Being able to wear the same top or sweater different ways is a big seller for me. That's why I fell in love with the slouchy dolmans at The Mint Julep Boutique. I received two beautiful slouchy dolmans- one in plum, and one in olive... two of my favorite colors.

What I love about the Slouchy Dolman in Olive...
I love the color. I have green eyes, so this is one of those colors that makes my eyes stand out. It's the perfect color to mix with other shades, like pinks, purples, blues, yellows, and browns. I'm not usually one to stray too far outside of my comfy box when it comes to what I wear, so I stuck with pairing neutrals with this dolman tunic. It can wear like a top with jeans, or like a tunic with leggings. I am looking forward to wearing it more with leggings and flats when it warms up a little bit. This tunic has 3/4 length sleeves, so it's perfect for springtime. In wearing it now while it's still cool out, it looks great paired with an open cardigan or denim jacket. It's crazy cute paired with boots and skinny jeans, but it would look just as chic with cropped jeans and sandals in the spring. This is a true transitional piece that is perfect for fall, winter, and spring.

What I love about the Slouchy Dolman in Plum...
I have just recently started to wear shades of purple. I really love the way it pops! It's a super relaxed fit, which means it really is slouchy. When I first put it on, I questioned whether or not it was too big looking. Once I started pairing some other pieces with it, I really loved the way it all came together. I wore this outfit on a Saturday, to a birthday party for one of B's classmates. I wanted to be cute, yet casual. I was comfy chasing my little guy around on the playground, and helping little ones get situated with their slices of cake. I received a lot of compliments from the other moms at the party. This is another great style for everyday. I plan to wear it again soon, and pair it with black leggings and booties, and maybe even a black vest.

I never realized how much I needed these two slouchy dolmans in my wardrobe before I had a chance to try them out. I plan on getting even more, in different colors. I love being able to dress them up or down, and style them in so many different ways. If you're a gal on the go, you'll definitely want to invest in a slouchy dolman or two!
