Do you love your car or ever wonder why people love their cars so much? For most car owners, there's a definite love connection if you're in the car of your dreams, or if you have a long standing relationship with your car. These days, car owners hold onto their cars for many years before trading them in, or giving them up. When you spend a lot of time with another person, you're bound to develop a relationship with them, be it an acquaintanceship, friendship, or a love. Chances are, if you have a car, you spend a lot of time in it, and caring for it- so it's natural to want to show a little love to car.
It's not always about having the biggest, baddest or fastest car on the block. Many car owners are very protective of the cars they have had for many years. Drivers hold onto many memories of being in their cars. Perhaps your car kept you safe or alive in a serious accident. It can be hard to let go of a car that saved your life, or offered you shelter or protection from dangerous situations. Maybe you've had a lot of wonderful adventures in your car. From road trips to local running around, you've probably made some amazing memories just by driving or riding in your car. Do you still drive the same car that you did when you were married, or brought your kids home from the hospital in when they were newborns? Can you remember the car you drove to your high school prom? Think back through most of the special occasions that have taken place in your life, and you'll probably see a car in the picture.
Some people love their cars so much, they treat them like a member of their family. Just as people do with their pets, they treat cars exceptionally well. If you want your car to be around for a long time, you have to take care of it. We give our cars shelter to protect them from the elements, so their exteriors remain in excellent condition. We give our cars good food that they need to survive, like premium fuel and fluids, which give them their life. We keep their batteries charged, and take time to polish the dashboard and vacuum the upholstery. We even give our cars names like 'Pearl, 'Red,' and 'White Lightening.'
Why do we do these things? It's because we value our cars. They're important to us, so we treat them well. We spend so much time on the go- car pool lanes, grocery store runs, the commute to work, driving to far off places, that we couldn't quite fully function without them in our lives. For as much as we take care of our cars, they take care of us in turn. It's no wonder people hold onto their cars for so long. When you take good care of your vehicle, it will surely last you a long time. So take time to care for your car, and get ready to make some wonderful new memories.
