Merry Christmas! Hopefully, you're with your love ones today, as I will be with mine. We're waking up bright and early, though we are still tired from our Christmas Eve. We spent the evening with friends and family at church and then headed home to tuck little ones into bed. Hubby and I played Santa, and tried to go to sleep, though hubby always has a hard time falling asleep on Christmas Eve, because he is so excited for Christmas.
I have been looking forward to Christmas morning for the past few weeks. They have been tough weeks for my family, after losing my Gram so suddenly on Dec. 2nd. I so badly want to see her sitting among us at my parent's house on Christmas Day, wearing her poinsettia sweatshirt, and smiling at the laughter of her great grandchildren. I am thankful for wonderful memories.
Now that I have children on my own, I look forward to seeing their excitement on Christmas morning. I love hearing my son recite the Christmas story, and then taking turns opening gifts, sitting around our perfect Christmas tree. Then, we head over to my in-law's and have a second Christmas with them, and enjoy brunch. I love being with them. Later in the afternoon, we head to my mom and dad's, and open gifts and enjoy Christmas dinner. Sometimes some of our friends stop by to visit, too.
Christmas for our family is all about celebrating the greatest gift- when love came down to live among us, and eventually save us. May Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace be at the center of your Christmas, and may you enjoy your time spent with family and friends!
Merry Christmas!
