Lend a Hand to Your Neighbor #ActsofKindness

I don't often brag on my husband, and he wouldn't like it if he knew I was doing so, but this is just one of the many reasons I love him so much. We were out at Home Depot last week, and we were getting Baby S into the car, and saw a gentleman struggling to get attic stairs into the bed of his truck. Without missing a beat, Sacha asks, 'Hey, could you use a hand with that?' The guy gladly accepted his help, and Sacha walked right over to lend a hand. This random act of kindness took mere minutes to complete, but it made me smile so much.

Love my helpful and kind husband so much!

The guy really appreciated the help, and I just felt proud. I sat there, almost in tears, saying to myself- 'this is what it is to be Jesus' hands and feet.' A random act of kindness doesn't have to be well thought out or planned in advance. It doesn't have to cost you any money, or inconvenience you at all. A kind word, a helping hand, a simple gesture can really make an impact on someone's life, or brighten their day.

B, with his shoebox gift!

Another great way to help your neighbor is by participating in Operation Christmas Child. We packed two shoeboxes this year- one through B's school, and one through our church. B absolutely loves picking out toys and gifts for kids in other parts of the world. We just watched a video of a distribution of shoeboxes, and it just made me cry... and it inspired my son. He has such a giver's heart, and I am one proud mom!

Are you looking for ways to serve? Just look around!
Opportunities abound... will you choose to accept?

Be kind, and have a beautiful Sunday!
