I should know- I have a seven-month-old, and for the past several weeks, my once 'perfect sleeper' has been night waking 3-4 times a night! Not only that, she hates car travel. As soon as we put Baby S in the car, it's a scream-fest until she cries herself to sleep. What's a caring parent to do (besides pull their hair out)?

Big Red Rooster makes sound machines for children and adults, and we were delighted to try out the cute little portable baby sound machine. It's very small, so it's the perfect size to take with you wherever you go. Baby S loves the adorable little laughing monkey, and wanted to play with it as soon as she saw it. It's so cute! It has a front speaker located in the monkey's tummy, and nice coordinating buttons.

The back of the product houses the batteries, which can easily be replaced when needed. It also gives you instructions to hold the power button for 3 seconds, to turn it on. Couldn't be easier to use! The handy clip ring allows you to clip the portable baby sound machine to the car seat with ease. Our car seat carrier handle was a little too wide for the ring on the sound machine, but I just clipped it right onto one of the many links we have, and it worked like a charm. I have also clipped it to the crib rail, letting it hang down where S can't see it or reach it. It has worked wonders for helping her get to sleep in her crib for daytime naps!

The Portable Baby Sound Machine can be used anywhere!

Baby S loves this little sound machine. It certainly packs a loft of features in a cute and tiny little package. We sometimes use it while S plays. The sounds are soothing, and they help her to wind down if she seems overstimulated.

The sound machine features five sounds, like rain, heartbeat, ocean, etc. We love the rain sound, and the lullaby, too. We enjoy using this when we travel. We haven't taken any long trips with this sound machine yet, but will do that after Christmas when we head to the beach. Right now, it's perfect for even short trips. It helps to drown out Baby S' noisy big brother in the seat next to her, and works wonders for calming her when she's upset in her car seat. It's also wonderful for nap time at home. Baby S wouldn't nap in her crib before we tried this out, and now she'll go down with no problem, as long as I have the sound machine going nearby. I love the timer feature. It allows me to set the sound machine to run for 15 or 30 minutes before it goes off on its own. S only naps for about 30 minutes at a time, so it works out just right for us.

We love the Portable Baby Sound Machine. I think it's a smart gift, and I know that we would have really appreciated having something like this after S was born. We took a 12+ hour trip (and drove) to NJ from NC, and this would have helped us so much when we were stuck in traffic for hours on end with a screaming 3 month old! I have so many friends who are expecting, and I cannot wait to gift this awesome little sound machine to them. The price is just right at $19.99!
