Now that B is in kindergarten, his days are spent learning how to read, write, and is developing a love for art, as well. I have been so pleased to see his progress since the start of the school year. B is so much more animated, and is alwatys excited to come home and tell us/show us what he's learned. One of the things that I have been really hard-nosed about since the school year started, is cutting down on screen time. We had a new baby last spring, and though I hate to admit it, having the television available to keep B entertained really helped me save my sanity while adjusting to life with two kids. In turn, B developed a really bad attitude when we would tell him that the TV had to go off... so we just started limiting TV and device time altogether.

B was so excited to try out the Magic Sketch! He couldn't wait to get his hands on the Magic Sketch and all of the stencils and tools!

The Magic Sketch is awesome. B is really starting to get into wanting to draw, which makes me so happy. We no longer have a designated ar area in our house, so it can be a bit of a challenge to pull out paper and crayons, paints, stamps, etc. With the Magic Sketch, B can draw, doodle, 'paint,' and stamp until his heart is content, without having to ask me to drag out art supplies, set them up, and B having to wear an old shirt or art smock.

The Magic Sketch couldn't have come at a better time for us to check out. We just went on a weekend trip the the mountains, and the Magic Sketch arrived minutes before we loaded up the car. We opened it up, and B was so excited that he had a cool new toy for the car. We packed the Magic Sketch with us, so that he could use it in the back seat on our 2+ hour drive. The Magic Sketch kept B occupied the whole way there. We took turns drawing pictures, and then writing the word above the drawing. This helped B practice his reading and writing without me having to force him to do it.

I was pleased to see B wanting to use Magic Sketch, rather than his tablet for most of the weekend away. We were at a church retreat all weekend, and B could have easily become bored during the worsip and bible study sessions. Having the Magic Sketch was a lifesaver! It was light enough for us to pack around, and super durable, as well. I love that it's mess-free, makes no noise, and doesn't have to be charged. I even saw a couple of older kids with Boogie Board products, doodling and sketching!

The stencils are awesome! They allow B to change them out as he likes, and he is able to practice his writing. Tracing helps him to work on precision, so the tracing cards are a wonderful addition to this already awesome set!
