Ahhh, it's that time of year again. Chunky sweaters, leggings, boots, and pumpkin spice everything! How lovely. The children are back in school, T.V. line-ups are coming back, and the hustle and bustle is in full swing. So...how's that work-out routine going? Still pushing yourself to look good in that special little number hanging in your closet. Oh, you know the one. The one that is a size or two too small that you've had hanging on that hanger since your pre-children years. For me it's the pair of Lucky Jeans from my early twenties. Cue the collective sigh.
You may have given up, you may have slacked off a bit, you may have cheated a little too much, or you may never have started. (All of the above for this chic.) Regardless of your excuse I have news for you (and by you I mean I am really typing this for myself).
NO ONE is going to do the work for you.
NO ONE is going to wrestle that donut from your mouth.
NO ONE is going to mad at you if you skip a workout.
The only ONE who will be mad is YOU.
Stop letting yourself down!
You have it in you. For God's sake, you raise little humans. You are a wonderful mate to your partner. You are the anchor that holds it all together. You deserve to be healthy. Today is your day!
I remember hearing Oprah or Ellen or my mom say move more and eat less. Yeah, let's do that. Let's celebrate climbing out of bed at an ungodly hour and clocking in 30 minutes on the elliptical. Let's celebrate taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Let's celebrate saying no to the cupcake or chips. Let's celebrate not getting the fries with the burger. Let's celebrate us! Positivity is the way to go.
So come on ladies! Who's with me?! I'm going to start by cutting my pop (soda or coke for you non-Midwesterners) intake. I'm going to say no more: No extra toppings, no extra helpings, no snooze alarm. We can do this! I believe in you and I'm ready.
