It was around this time last year that my husband and I told our son that he was going to be a big brother. He was pretty excited about being promoted to big bro, as long as it meant that he would get a little brother out of the deal. When we found out that we were having a baby girl, we were thrilled- one of each was what we'd hoped for. Big brother, on the other hand, wasn't so keen on the idea of another girl invading his world. For several weeks after Baby S was born, B asked if we could just take her back to the hospital. Now that she's nearly six months old, he loves her and wants to protect her... and even tries to play with her.
