How do you prepare your kids to go back to school? For us, even though it has technically been summer break since the end of May, it hasn't really seemed like it. We enrolled B in summer play group at his preschool for six weeks this summer, so it was almost like we were on a normal schedule. I'm almost ashamed to admit that the days seemed so long, even with B being at school for three hours a day. Being at home with a new baby and a five-year-old is a lot harder than I imagined it would be. There are some moms who make having managing more than one child seem so natural and so effortless, and I gaze at them in wonderment with stars in my eyes. I am not one of those moms. I am the hot mess mom who is always covered in spit-up, has drool in her hair, and is desperate to find a quiet, yet engaging activity for her inquisitive kindergartener.




Thankfully, EDUSHAPE is a part of my life, and a part of my child's at home learning experience. The Kiddy Connects Advanced set comes with many colorful pieces, in an easy to fill jar with lid (handle included for easy carrying).

The pieces connect together in just about any way you can imagine!

B was very excited to receive this set. He loves to build, so the funky shapes presented a new challenge for him. The bright colors are a lot of fun, and very eye-catching. I wondered if B would play with the set for more than just a few minutes at a time, and to my surprise, he played with the set for about an hour (the first time we playe with it). He built different creations, using all of the pieces, and then took them apart and built different ones.

The Kiddy Connects Advanced set does come with a booklet of ideas for building different things. There are not instructions included- only photos. We have already built a few of the things included in the booklet!

The Kiddy Connects Advanced Set is a super fun activity for anytime. We particularly enjoy playing with it on hot afternoons, when we can't go out to play, on rainy days, or when we're feeling extra creative. B loves to sort out the shapes and colors, and figure out which pieces he needs to build some of the suggestions from the booklet, or to create on his own.

This more challenging version of Kiddy Connects utilizes additional shapes to develop greater reasoning and logic, via shapes that go beyond the 90 degree limit of standard Kiddy Connects. Includes an easy clean up jar.

We enjoy spending family time together, just building, creating, laughing, having fun, and working on life-long building skills! August is Family Fun Month, and what better way to spend time together than by playing and learning?
