Birthday Donataion Party #actsofkindness

We have been celebrating Aiden's 8th birthday this week.  Yesterday was his birthday party with his friends.  I was so proud of him for choosing to have a donation party.  I had mentioned it to him but I knew it would have to be his own decision.  We have so much and there are so many around us who do not!  Aiden saw first hand how many children don't have any food over the weekend when they are not at school.  We help pack weekend backpacks for Food for Thought that is here local.  When he decided that he wanted his friends to bring donations instead of birthday gifts he chose Rowan Helping Ministires because he wants to help feed children during the summer months.  We talked about the need for extra food during the summer and sometimes children just like him may not eat for a couple of days.  His friends came to the party yesterday with arms full of food!  Aiden has a goal of 200 pounds of food to donate.  I can't wait to deliver it next week and find out what we have collected.  This will be a 'To be continued' post....I will post pictures of all the food (I was too tired to unload my car last night) and I will let you know if we reach our goal of 200 pounds.  I pray that Aiden will continue to see the need around him and do his part to help others and make this world a better place for everyone!!

Here a couple of birthday party pics for you to enjoy....
