I thought I knew everything about laundry that I needed to know. I have been doing my own laundry since I was a teenager, so that's going on 17 years of laundry. I have mastered getting stains out, and with a five-year-old, newborn, and messy husband, that says a lot. Bringing a baby back into the mix has really amped up the dirty laundry production in my house. I thought that my two guys- boy and hubs, made a ton of dirty laundry, but I had forgotton all about all the the extra laundry that a baby produces, as well.
What about mom's clothes? Well, they've seen better days. I usually go for what's comfortable and easy to wear, and things that I don't mind being covered in spit-up. Every now and then (at least on Sundays), the family dresses up for church, and I want and need to look nice and fresh. I don't want to wear anything that's stiff, wrinkled, or spit-up covered to church.
Let's give it a shot!
I was eager to try out the Downy Fabric Conditioner, especially since the dryer was temporarily out of order. The product comes in a colorful Downy pour spout container with a cute flower petal lid. It's easy to use, and pour right into your washing machine. Just a little bit per load will do.
Ready to dry this load, and feel the softness!
I tested the Downy Fabric Conditioner with a load of clothes, and a load of towels. No one likes stiff clothes or papery towels- they don't feel good against soft skin. After the clothes and towels came out of the washing machine, they were hung to dry. I was immediately impressed by the way they felt- soft to the touch, and virtually wrinkle free. PS- just because you hand clothes to dry doesn't mean they'll be free of wrinkles. The Downy Fabric Conditioner helped the clothes keep their shape, kept them feeling soft, and wrinkle-free! The towels were also very soft and fluffy feeling, as if they had come out of the dryer.
I had been washing laundry at home, and then taking wet loads to my mother-in-law's house to dry them. With the Downy Fabric Conditioner, I don't have to go back and forth with loads of laundry while we either shop for a new dryer or try to get ours fixed. I am so happy to have all of the laundry here at home, and happy to have it super soft. Not having to iron the clothing is a huge time saver, as well. I stink at ironing, anyway!
