As a work from home Mom, I am not making the salary I might if I worked outside of the home. For the last 8 years, we have had to find ways not only to bring in extra money, but to also get the most "bang for our buck".
Here are a few of the websites we have been using over the years. I hope they are as helpful for you as they have been for us!
1. Shop Your Way- There is a reason this one is at the top of my list. I signed up with the SYW program after reading about it on Facebook. The person who posted the link was a "Personal Shopper" and was sharing some special to get an MP3 player for no cost out of pocket! I signed right up, picked up my free MP3 player at a local Kmart, and I have been hooked ever since. Most recently I "bought" the girls winter jackets for next year and because of my accumulated points, I paid nothing out of pocket!
You can sign up for free membership or a Shop Your Way MAX membership. Each one has their benefits and you should look into which would be most beneficial to you. Oh, and you absolutely should enter their Sweeps; I once won $100 in points, which turned into some free Christmas gifts for the girls!
From their website: " The Shop Your Way ® program rewards you for buying the products and services you want every day. Through an extensive network, you can shop thousands of your favorite brands and earn points to use on future purchases. As a member you also have access to special pricing, sales, and digital coupons that can be loaded directly into your account. Start shopping today and watch the points and savings add up."
2. SwagBucks- I've been a member of Swagbucks since 2011. You earn Swagbucks (points) that you can later redeem toward gift cards by shopping (so many SB/dollar spent at stores like Kohls, Walmart, Old Navy and more), completing tasks (answering polls, watching videos etc.) and, my personal favorite, using their search engine when you want to look something up. Over the years I've accumulated 10,635 SB, which adds up to a little over $100 in gift cards. It doesn't seem like much, but knowing that the bulk of that is just from using their search engine, I am pretty pleased with the results!
3. InstaGC- This is the second year I am using InstaGC and I love it. I put in a small effort and the rewards are pretty great. You earn points to redeem toward gift cards (completing surveys, watching videos, shopping online, web searches), but with this site you are able to redeem your points as soon as you earn $1 worth! If you follow them on Facebook, you will see that they often share special codes that you can enter for free points.
4. Ibotta- Not really a website, but I use this app on my phone whenever I go grocery shopping! There are two easy ways to earn: submitting a receipt or linking your loyalty account. Make your shopping list then open your Ibotta app and see which rebates you qualify for. Unlock the rebates, go shopping, and either submit your receipt or be sure to use your loyalty account. Your earnings will show up in your account, usually within 24 hours. You can transfer your earnings to PayPal or Venmo, or use them to purchase gift cards. You can also earn rebates on clothing, electronics, and dining out at your favorite restaurants.
5. Shopping Notes- This website helps you keep track of price changes on any item you are thinking of purchasing. Simply enter the URL of the product you are interested in, let them know where to email you, and you will be updated anytime the price of the product changes. I use this website mostly around the holidays, but if you are slightly more organized than I am, you can use it year round to keep track of items you want to purchase for birthdays, anniversaries, or other special ocassions.
I hope you have found this list helpful. If you have any money saving/making tips you'd like to share, I'd love to hear about it. Leave a comment below!
