ABOUT “GOLDIE & BEAR”:
“Goldie & Bear” is a fairytale-inspired Disney Junior animated series that premiered in September 2015. The series follows the adventures of Goldie and her newfound best friend Bear following the renowned porridge incident of "Goldilocks and The Three Bears." Well-known characters from fairy tales, folk tales and nursery rhymes can be seen in the series, including Humpty Dumpty, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, who is often referred to simply as "Big Bad." Goldie and Bear seek out opportunities for fun with their friends, having adventures that often feature a touch of magic.
Our Thoughts...
This is such a cute series! We don't get cable anymore, so there are a lot of Disney Junior shows that we don't get to see on a regular basis. Goldie and Bear looked so cute, and I knew that not only B would enjoy it, but that as Baby S grows, she'll enjoy it , as well. We love fairytales, so this show is right up our alley. B wasn't so sure that he wanted to watch it at first- he's five, so he's sort of growing out of some of the Disney Junior shows and characters. I convinced him to give it a try, and wouldn't you know it- he loved it!
I was glad to see B recognizing familiar fairy tales and nursery rhymes in this DVD. It has 7 episodes, and over two hours of entertainment. I love Disney Junior, and have been so pleased that B has been able to grow up watching their programming. This DVD is certainly one to add to your collection- and it would be a great pick to keep at grandma and grandpa's house!
The DVD comes with some added bonuses, as well. B loves the extra stickers, and activity kit. This is a great everyday entertainment disc to keep on hand for the kiddos. We enjoyed watching some of the episodes, and then finding the same stories and rhymes in my old- Old Mother Goose storybook! It brought up some great conversation about some of the things I enjoyed as a child- like reading those rhymes to my sister when we were little! Sweet memories!
