I love books and I love Read Across America Day. This was this past week on March 2nd. I am a Kindergarten Teacher, so we celebrated reading and Dr. Seuss's birthday last week. It was a busy, fun-filled week. We spent a lot of time reading and tried to read all the the books by Dr. Seuss last week. We didn't get through them all....we did have to take reading breaks and get some other things done. It is so fun to read Dr. Seuss. I love when the children giggle and yell out the words that rhyme because we are studying rhyming words right now. My son is in the 2nd grade. His class was having a competition with the 1st grade class to see who could read the most books. I'm excited to find out tomorrow which class read. We did a lot of extra reading at home last week. I don't get to hold my son and read to him that often anymore because he loves to lay on the couch and read. But since we were trying to read more books than usual, he let me read a couple to him. It was so nice to snuggle up in the recliner with a good book. Reading is such a relaxing activity for me. I wish I had more time to read. I am glad that my son also enjoys reading. You can get lost in a good book. Take the time to read one to your children and pick up one for yourself!!
What are some of your favorite books?
