We're looking for little ways to update our home. We don't have a large house, and we're renters, so making someone else's house feel like our own can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. We have tried to update most of the rooms in our home, but the one room that has been saved for last, is the master bedroom, of course. Since we are living and working in such small spaces, our bedroom has to be a multi-functional room for us- serving as a bedroom, with space for a desk and desktop computer. We have a two bedroom home- one child, and a baby on the way. In order to avoid B losing sleep when the baby is small, we've decided to make one area of our bedroom the baby's area- with a crib, arm chair, etc.

Figuring out how to break up spaces can be a bit of a task. We have a fairly sized room, so we felt like separating the two areas wouldn't be too much of a problem, but I wanted to make sure that the baby's side of the room looks and feels like a nursery, while tying in colors and themes that we were already using in our room. We had a black and white theme in our room for about five years, and just recently, we decided to get a new headboard, new dressers, and go with grey and teal for our colorscape.

I knew that an area rug would be a great, stylish and inviting way to break up the spaces in our bedroom. Where to find a good quality, stylish rug that wouldn't break the bank, though? I thought of SAFAVIEH, because I have seen their rugs, and some of their beautiful decor. My uncles got their new couches from SAFAVIEH, and I absolutely love them!

I had the pleasure of receiving the opportunity to work with SAFAVIEH, and select a rug for review. I actually selected a few different options- though it was no easy task! SAFAVIEH has so many beautiful rugs to choose from, that it literally took me several days to make up my mind as to which ones were my top five picks. I was able to search by style, color, size, etc- on the SAFAVIEH website, which made finding the perfect rug easier than ever!

In the beautifully textured Precious rug collection, patterns from quatrefoils to geometrics are hand-tufted of cut pile against a loop pile ground flecked with shimmering metallic yarn.  Yarns in Precious rugs are a blend of polyester, wool and cotton.

I fell in love with the Precious Collection, Silver from SAFAVIEH as soon as I laid eyes on it. I was looking for something contemporary, and in the grey family... something that would be elegant, and would tie in two sides of one room. Since our room has to work as a master bedroom and nursery in one, we wanted to have our side of the room keep that grown up look and feel, and then have the baby's area embrace that same elegance, while being wrapped in a bundle of sweetness.

While I realize that it's sort of pattern crazy in our room right now, the rug will eventually be moved over to the other side of our room, in font of baby's crib.

I absolutely love the pattern and the texture of the rug- it's low and high pile, making it so much fun to walk over or lie down on!

This rug is already favored by our five year old son, who loves to drag his toys into our room, and play on the rug. We're hoping that the baby will love playing on the rug as well.

We're not sure whether we're having a boy or a girl yet- we should know in a few weeks. Right now, we're working on clearing out our old furniture- two old dressers, an old desk, and an antique rocking chair, to make room for new furniture for the baby. We'll be purchasing a new crib, arm chair, side table, lamp, which will fit perfectly on the other side of our room.

We're planing a nursery design similar to this one- incorporating either pink or blue, in with the grey and white. The new SAFAVIEH rug will sit in front of the crib.

For now, we're loving the rug right where it is. We know we have some work to do, to prepare the room before baby's arrival, but thankfully, we have a few months to do that in.

I'm so happy to have this beautiful rug from SAFAVIEH gracing our bedroom.

I know the rug will make a beautiful, soft and fun spot for baby to roll around on. The fact that it's a textured rug will be even more fun as baby learns to feel. We love the shimmery silver specs in the rug, as well. All of our friends and family members who have seen the rug have fallen in love with it, and have asked where it came from.
