Get Cooking with the Cookina Reusable Baking Sheet #Review + #Giveaway


We use our oven a lot in our house. From roasting to baking and broiling, we use the oven as a healthier alternative to pan cooking or frying our foods. Lately. we've been on a mission to eat healthier, by cutting carbs and sugar. We've had to learn new ways to cook and bake some of our favorite types of foods. We're actually using the oven a lot more than we used to, and we've been doing a lot more dishes, as well. I don't want to spend my evening hours at home scrubbing pans- family time is precious to me. In an effort to spend less time cleaning up, we turned to reusable baking sheets.



 Cookina

We were recently introduced to Cookina, which offers reusable baking sheets. Poirier Richard inc. was founded in 1999 by Robert R. Richard and Jacques Poirier who between the two of them, had over 50 years of experience in selling different products to customers in Quebec. A few years ago, Poirier Richard inc. has reached an agreement directly with factories in China and brought to market the Luxwatt brand of electrical products. And 2011 saw the birth of new and innovative products, the Cookina brand of cooking sheets.

We were excited to try out the Cookina Baking Sheets!

Our Cookina product came packaged in a colorful, slender box. The actual baking sheet was rolled up, and held together by a ring. The baking sheet itself should be rolled out, and cut to size to fit your baking pan. The Cookina comes with instructions for use, as well as a scouring pad for easy cleaning. I was actually very excited to see how the Cookina would perform. I have had very little experience baking with baking sheets, and was ready to see how well this would work for the trickiest of all baked goods- cookies.


Here, you can see the Cookina fully rolled out. Sacha (hubby) carefully cut the baking sheet to size, so it would fit our preferred baking pan.

Ta-da! A perfect fit!

After the Cookina was cut to size, it was time for me to preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and then mix up a batch of our favorite cookies!

South Beach Peanut Butter Cookies

1 Cup of Splenda
1 Cup of All Natural Peanut Butter
1 Egg
Splash of Vanilla Extract

*Mix all ingredients together, and form cookie dough balls with a cookie dough scoop or tablespoon.
Coat a fork in Splenda and press down on each cookie dough ball, making a criss-cross pattern on top. Bake for 9-10 minutes and let cool.

A little Splenda coating on the fork to make the criss cross pattern will keep the fork from sticking to the dough.

The result- perfectly, evenly baked cookies!

I was so pleased by the result of the cookies, after having use the Cookina baking sheet! I am always worried that the cookies will be too dark on the bottoms, but these were evenly colored on the tops and bottoms, and very evenly baked! This has been our best batch of cookies yet, thanks to the Cookina Reusable Baking Sheet! I didn't have to spray the pan down with cooking or baking spray beforehand- the Cookina did all of the work, and left me with very little mess to have to clean up!

For clean up, I simply removed the Cookina baking sheet from the pan, after it had cooled off, and then gave it a wash. I didn't need to use the scour pad the first time- but I know I may need it for tougher clean up jobs, like melted cheese, etc.

Another great recipe to try- 
Baked Honey-Mustard Chicken Fingers

Ingredients:
2 Chicken breasts, cut into strips
salt and pepper
½ C. low fat mayonnaise
2 Tblsp. honey
2 Tblsp. whole grain mustard
1 tsp. dried oregano
Juice of ½ lemon

Directions:
Preheat broiler on high and line a baking sheet with a COOKINA Cuisine sheet.
Season chicken fingers with salt and pepper. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Add a few teaspoons of water if it’s too thick. Mix chicken fingers in honey mustard mixture until well combined.
Line chicken fingers on the Cookina sheet and broil in the oven until browned on one side, then flip chicken and brown other side. It should take about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Serve immediately.
