I've got a question for you. What are you getting your Mom for Mother's Day? You might be thinking it's way too early to think about it, but it is only a month away. I was some what at a loss this year, that is, until I was given a chance to review a candle from Jackpot Candles. If you're not familiar with Jackpot Candles, you are in for a treat. If you already know about them, then you know the cool secret they have hidden inside.



Jackpot Candles are hand poured, 100% premium Soy candles that when you burn them down, they reveal a surprise inside the candle. The surprise comes in the form of a piece of beautiful jewelry that you get to unwrap from the candle. Burn the candle for a few hours or days, depending on how deep it is inside the candle, once you see the foil, extinguish the candle, let it cool a bit and you can pull the foil out. Unwrap it to see what you get.

Jackpot candles have 17 different scents to choose from, and I must say, it was a difficult decision. After an hour of deliberating, I finally picked Pina Colada. Now, when you order your candle, you have the option of choosing if you want a ring, necklace or earrings in your candle. I didn't know what was going to be in mine, which made it that much more exciting.

My Jackpot Candle arrived and I couldn't wait to burn it. I searched high and low for a lighter, but I couldn't find one. After a quick trip to the store to buy a lighter, I was ready to light this candle on fire and let it burn. The scent of the candle is so intoxicating, a mix coconut, vanilla and pineapple made me feel like I was back in Honduras.


I wish you could smell what I'm smelling. 

The scent isn't heavy, but it quickly filled my whole home and lasted well after I had blown the candle out. When the candle is not lit, and the lid is off, it still scents the air. I let the candle burn for about 8 hours of the course of two days. Within those 8 hours, I began to see the foil of my jewelry surprise. Now, you are supposed to blow out the candle and let it cool for a bit before you dig out your jewelry packet. I'm too impatient, I blew out the candle and stuck in my tweezers and grabbed the foil packet. I made a bit of a mess, but I didn't care.

I placed my foil packet on a paper towel to rest, and began to unwrap it. I was giddy with excitement, like a kid opening birthday gifts. I opened the packet to reveal a gorgeous, black key necklace on a silver chain. The necklace had a small tag on it instructing me to go to the website and type in my code for an appraisal of the jewelry. The jewelry ranges in value anywhere from $15 to $5,000, and mine is worth $55!

Now, being a plus size person, I have a bigger neck and I was afraid the chain wouldn't be long enough. I was right, the chain was too short and was basically like a choker. However, I didn't let that discourage me, I have several longer chains, and I easily replaced it with a different one. With the longer chain in place, I was able to try it on and see what it looked like.

I've always wanted a key necklace, and I am so happy I have one now. Since it is black in color, possibly a black crystal, I'm not sure because it doesn't give a description of the jewelry, it goes well with most everything. I wore it a few days ago with a flowing patterned top and skinny jeans, and then when I went out with my husband, added it to my black dress and it looked stunning.


I am in love with this necklace, I added a longer chain in a darker color. 

I've gotten many compliments on the necklace, and I always tell them that it came from Jackpot Candles. It makes such a fun gift for people, two gifts in one!
